Besides the artful Mignola-created and del Toro-directed Hellboy, points must also go to the new Batman Movie

The Batman poster is interesting, because it only makes sense if you think that the Joker is performing for the viewer's benefit. Obviously the writing is backwards from his perspective, but more than that, the bloody grin only works if he's standing right there, with that precise pose.

Nobody at Indiana Jones wanted to see Hellboy II. I was probably the only one who even knew what it was, let alone had seen its predecessor.

I practically bounced out of my seat when I saw the Hellboy II trailer.

Did they actually go with that Batman poster? Or was it nixed due to Ledger's untimely demise?

Man! That Hellboy poster rocks my socks off. I also really liked Drew Struzan's teaser poster for Indy 4. Dramatic, colorful, mysterious and powerful: it's far better than the cluttered mess of the official poster. (What's Dom DeLuise doing there next to Marion, anyways?)

Apparently, that Joker poster was put in subways to give people the impression that it was an empty place for a poster, and the joker was simply behind it, writing. Which I can totally see after being told about it.
