No joke, Taft is possibly my favorite president (Excluding the first three, because you cannot NOT love Washington, Adams and Jefferson and still so much as pretend you even have a vague understanding as to what a president in a representative democracy is meant to represent, BUT I DIGRESS). Honestly, Taft - Outspoken Agnostic, Trust-Buster, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and mostly everyone remembers him for getting stuck in a bathtub once. The presidency is a lonely job.

Anyway, I added the TAFT/HOPE picture to CafePress Shop, if you really must own a little bit of a big man.

I love the fact that Taft would skinny dip in the Potomac. That cat played by his own rules.

Plus his dad Alfonso founded Skull & Bones! That is some presidential pedigree right there.

And he took down William Jennings Bryan. No mean feat, that.

I actually attended Taft Middle School in Oklahoma City, long, long ago. I did not know anyone else knew who he even was...

You thought you were the only person who knew about an American president? He's not an indie band.

True enough, I mean he does have a wikipedia page, so even a million monkeys hitting random would learn about him...assuming they were intelligent monkeys(and if they can hit a web link I am gonna give them the benefit of the doubt.)

But seriously, how much total face time does Taft get in a modern educational system? Just curious.

The modern educational system's US history program is focused (almost to its detriment) exclusively on wars and presidents. Taft gets special mention for getting stuck in a bathtub. Sometimes, it's even an AP question.

And he was a pacifist. AND he was from Ohio. Where most great people come from. Ahem...
