Every year, there's Talk Like A Pirate Day, from which I think the shine has all but completely worn off. Pirates aren't quite as awesome as they used to be, and if one can judge solely by Latvia using it as a theme for their Eurovision entry this year then Pirates are actually about a decade past being cool (That old maxim about "It's America ten years ago or Europe now"). I also don't think there's much of a challenge to it, anyone can talk like Robert Newton, I've never heard anyone who can't do an "Arrrr" or a "MAY-TEE."

So you know what I'd like, either in lieu of it or as a competing holiday? Talk Like Daniel Plainview Day. I think it'd be fascinating, I sometimes give it a try just because it's fun. We could all dress in very nice turn of the century outfits and there will be, of course, milkshakes. Maybe we could beat a preacher to death. Think about it, won't you?

Also, in other movie-related diversions, I think it would be neat to have a hot sauce called Prince Capsaicin. Thank you and good night.
